Went to BASES Social-Entrepreneurship Challenge finals on Friday since I am going to be an officer next year. $50,000 were on the line with $25,000 going to the first place team. All the groups were really impressive. The judges were also great. The judges included Matt Flannery, Co-founder and CEO of Kiva.org; Debra Dunn, board member for the Skoll Foundation; and Dr. Don Francis, who helped discover HIV. I am looking forward to being on the Social-E team next year. Above is a picture I took during re-motion design’s presentation. The results were realeased so here is a quick summary of the groups:

Re:Motion Designs - Re:Motion is designing affordable prosthetic components for amputees in the developing world.  Their first product is a $20 polymer-based polycentric knee joint called the JaipurKnee, which has been tried on over 40 patients in India.
